Terms of service
Last updated: September 3, 2026 · Checkout Firewall
These terms govern your use of Checkout Firewall (“the App”), a Shopify application operated at shopfrauddetection.com. By installing or using the App you agree to these terms on behalf of the store that installs it.
The service
The App helps merchants detect and (when enabled) block high-confidence card-testing identities inside Shopify checkout via a Cart & Checkout Validation Function, shop-local lists, hashed reputation, and activity tooling. New installs default to Monitor mode, which does not block buyers.
Eligibility
You must have authority to install apps on the Shopify store, comply with Shopify’s terms, and use the App only for lawful fraud prevention related to your store.
Merchant responsibilities
- Configure protection mode, lists, and alerts appropriately for your risk tolerance.
- Review Activity and false-positive tools before relying on blocking modes.
- Remain responsible for your relationship with buyers and for checkout messaging.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer shared hashes to identify other merchants’ customers.
No payment data
The App does not receive, store, or process payment card numbers, CVV, or full track data. Payment authorization remains between Shopify, your payment provider, and the buyer.
No guarantee of absolute prevention
Fraud techniques change. The App reduces exposure to card-testing patterns we model; it does not guarantee that every attack is stopped or that every legitimate checkout is unaffected. Monitor mode is provided so you can evaluate behavior before blocking.
Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practicable. Shopify platform limits (for example Plus-only Validation capabilities on some app types) may affect which enforcement paths are available to your store.
Fees
Pricing, if any, is shown in the Shopify App Store listing or an order form we provide. Shopify may bill App Store charges under Shopify’s billing terms.
Intellectual property
The App, branding, and documentation remain ours. You retain rights to your store data. You grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the App, as described in the privacy policy.
Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such disclaimers are not allowed.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for payment-processor fees, chargebacks, or lost sales arising from blocked or allowed checkouts. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the App is limited to the fees you paid us for the App in the three months before the claim (or zero if the App was free).
Termination
You may uninstall at any time. We may suspend access for abuse, security risk, or material breach. Uninstall and Shopify redact webhooks trigger deletion as described in the privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer or merchant protection laws require otherwise.
